Bass lessons at Barefoot Music Academy focus on the role bass plays in a group — locking in with the rhythm section and driving a song forward. One-on-one instruction is available for beginners through experienced players throughout the Outer Banks.
Students learn proper finger and hand technique, basic rhythm patterns, and how to read chord charts and bass notation. Lessons progress into groove-building, walking bass lines, and playing along with other instruments.
Sessions start with a technique and finger-exercise warm-up, move into groove or song work, and close with a listening or play-along exercise to reinforce timing.
